Best Rug Steam Cleaning Machines

The Hoover PowerScrub Deluxe is a carpet cleaning machine designed for homeowners who want professional-level deep cleaning without the high cost. It is especially suited for pet owners and families dealing with tough stains and high-traffic areas.

With five counter-rotating SpinScrub brushes, it loosens and lifts dirt from multiple angles. The HeatForce drying technology reduces drying time, so carpets are ready to walk on sooner. The dual tank system keeps clean and dirty water separate, and the Auto Mix feature ensures the right solution ratio every time.

The machine comes with a complete set of tools including an upholstery tool, pet tool, crevice tool, and an 8-foot hose for extended reach. The build is sturdy but relatively lightweight at 18.5 pounds, making it easy to maneuver.

One potential drawback is that it is corded, which may limit reach in large rooms. Additionally, for best results, you should use Hoover brand cleaning solutions. Some users have noted that the water tank can be tricky to seat properly, but overall reliability is high.

Overall, the Hoover PowerScrub Deluxe offers excellent value for its price. With thousands of positive reviews and a 4.4-star rating, it is a trusted choice for deep cleaning carpets and upholstery at home.

The Hoover PowerDash Pet is a compact carpet cleaner built for pet owners and busy households who need a quick, effective way to remove stains and odors. It delivers 2X more cleaning power than leading lightweight cleaners, making short work of everything from muddy paw prints to spilled juice. Despite its power, the machine weighs only 12.5 pounds and has a slim profile that stores easily in closets or under beds.

A standout feature is the HeatForce technology, which dries carpets much faster than conventional cleaners. This means you can walk on freshly cleaned carpets in about an hour, not half a day. The antimicrobial PowerSpin Pet Brush Roll further enhances the experience by resisting the growth of odor-causing bacteria, keeping the machine fresh between uses. The brush roll also agitates fibers deeply to lift dirt from high-traffic zones.

Design and build quality are typical of Hoover: functional, durable plastic with a straightforward setup. The 15-inch cleaning path covers a good area per pass, and the trigger spray gives you control over how much solution you apply. The removable water tank is easy to fill and rinse, though at half a gallon it may need refills for larger rooms. The included sample solution is a nice starter, but you'll want to buy a full bottle for ongoing use.

One drawback is its corded design, which requires a nearby outlet or an extension cord for larger spaces. Also, while it's great for spot cleaning and small rooms, it may not replace a full-size carpet cleaner for wall-to-wall deep cleans in very large areas. Some users note the machine can be a bit noisy, but that's typical for powerful carpet cleaners.

Overall, the Hoover PowerDash Pet is an excellent value for pet owners and those living in apartments or smaller homes. It combines impressive cleaning strength with lightweight portability and fast drying, all at a reasonable price point. If you need a reliable, easy-to-use spot and area cleaner, this is a top contender.

The BISSELL TurboClean Pet XL (model 3746) is an upright carpet cleaner tailored for pet owners who need deep cleaning power. With a 10-inch clean path and a 1-gallon tank, it efficiently covers large areas and reduces refill stops. This machine is ideal for homes with pets, tackling tough stains and allergens.

Standout features include the 4-Row DeepReach PowerBrush that agitates deep into carpet fibers to remove embedded pet dirt and dander. The included PRO MAX Clean and Protect formula with StainProtect Technology helps prevent future stains, while the bonus Pet Stain and Odor formula targets stubborn pet messes. Real-world performance is strong, with a 4.3-star average from thousands of reviews.

Design and build quality are solid for the price. The cleaner weighs 23.3 pounds, making it manageable for most users. The above-floor tools, such as the 3-inch Tough Stain Tool, add versatility for cleaning stairs and upholstery. However, the corded electric power source limits range without an extension cord.

One potential drawback is the relatively short hose for above-floor cleaning, which may require moving the unit closer to the area. Additionally, the full tank of water can be heavy to carry. Some users wish for a longer power cord. Despite these minor issues, the machine delivers excellent cleaning results for pet-related messes.

Overall, the BISSELL TurboClean Pet XL is a great investment for pet owners seeking a reliable carpet cleaner. It combines effective stain removal, large capacity, and useful tools at a reasonable price. If you have pets and need to deep clean carpets frequently, this model is highly recommended.

The BISSELL TurboClean PET is a compact upright carpet cleaner built for pet owners who need to tackle tough messes on area rugs and small spaces. It combines powerful suction with a 4-Row DeepReach PowerBrush to lift ground-in dirt and stains that vacuums miss, making it a strong choice for high-traffic areas and pet accidents.

Standout features include the 7-foot hose and included tools: a 4-inch Self-Cleanout Tool that flushes debris with one button press, and a Spraying Crevice Tool for tight spots. The machine comes with two 8oz formulas (PRO MAX Clean + Protect and Pet Pro OXY Urine Eliminator) to handle both everyday stains and stubborn pet odors.

Design is lightweight and compact, ideal for quick cleaning sessions and easy storage. The removable nozzle allows for simple rinsing to maintain performance. Build quality feels solid for its price point, though the plastic construction is typical for this class of cleaner.

Drawbacks include the corded power source, which may require an extension cord for larger rooms, and a relatively small water tank that needs refilling for extensive jobs. Some users report needing multiple passes on deeply set stains, but overall cleaning results are impressive for a compact machine.

Verdict: The BISSELL TurboClean PET offers excellent value for pet owners seeking a portable, effective carpet cleaner. Its versatility, self-cleaning tool, and pet-friendly mission make it a smart buy for maintaining fresh carpets and upholstery.

The Starrybot upholstery cleaner is a powerful portable spot extractor designed for pet owners and anyone dealing with stubborn stains on carpets, upholstery, or car interiors. With 18,000Pa of suction, it lifts embedded dirt and accidents quickly, making it a practical tool for daily messes.

Standout features include a trio of specialized brushes: a 3-inch hand tool for tight spots, a 5-inch wide tool for bigger messes, and an integrated CreviceCollector for corners and edges. Users consistently praise its surprising suction strength, noting that it pulls up old dirt even from regularly vacuumed carpets.

The machine weighs just 10.4 pounds and includes a 6.5-foot hose, allowing you to clean without constantly moving the unit. The 60oz clean and 40oz dirty water tanks reduce the need for frequent refills, but one drawback is the water spray pattern: it ejects four streams that may not wet fabric evenly, meaning a little manual spreading can improve results.

Construction is solid for its price point, and the compact design with a detachable handle makes storage simple. A one-year warranty adds confidence for long-term use.

Overall, the Starrybot offers excellent value for spot cleaning, especially for pet stains and auto interiors. It combines strong suction, an array of attachments, and user-friendly portability, making it a smart choice for those seeking a no-fuss, effective cleaner.

The UWANT B400 is a portable carpet and upholstery cleaner designed for quick spot cleaning and deep stain removal. It's ideal for pet owners, parents, and anyone who needs a versatile, lightweight machine to tackle messes on carpets, couches, car seats, and more.

Its standout feature is the combination of steam and hot water technology, which reaches up to 212°F in steam mode and 149°F in hot water mode. This helps break down stubborn stains like pet accidents and food spills, while the strong 18Kpa suction pulls them out, leaving surfaces cleaner and drying faster. Users report that it lifts stains rather than spreading them, and even makes old carpets and upholstery look refreshed.

The design is thoughtful and user-friendly. The 2-in-1 water tank integrates clean and waste water, simplifying the emptying and refilling process. The machine is lightweight at 5 pounds, and the capacitive touch buttons reduce hand fatigue, even during longer cleaning sessions. Safety features require deliberate presses to switch modes, adding a layer of protection.

While the performance is impressive, the water tank capacity might be small for large cleaning projects, and the corded design means you'll need an outlet nearby. However, for most everyday messes and spot cleaning tasks, these are minor trade-offs for the portability and convenience.

Overall, the UWANT B400 offers excellent value for anyone seeking a powerful, portable cleaner that handles both carpets and steam cleaning. Its combination of steam, hot water, and strong suction makes it a reliable tool for keeping your home and car looking their best.
